Data Deletion

You can permanently delete your My Car Concierge account and the personal data associated with it at any time. This page explains how to do that, what gets deleted, what we may need to retain for legal or accounting reasons, and how to reach us if you need help.

1How to delete your account

Members can delete their account directly from inside the app. The full process takes less than a minute:

  1. Sign in to mycarconcierge.com or open the My Car Concierge mobile app.
  2. Open MembersSettings.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the Settings tab to the red Danger Zone card.
  4. Tap Delete My Account.
  5. In the confirmation dialog, type DELETE in the input box and tap Delete My Account.

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once you confirm, your data is removed and we cannot restore it.

Provider accounts and accounts that have active disputes, open payments, or unresolved compliance items can request deletion by emailing privacy@mycarconcierge.com from the email address on the account. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.

2What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we remove the following from our active systems:

  • Profile data: name, email, phone number, mailing address, profile photo, language and notification preferences.
  • Vehicles: every vehicle you have registered, including make, model, year, VIN, license plate, mileage, and uploaded vehicle photos.
  • Service history: service requests you have created, bids you have received, accepted appointments, and any messages you exchanged with providers through the platform.
  • Maintenance & documents: maintenance logs, fuel logs, OBD code lookups, OCR-scanned insurance and registration documents, and any files you uploaded.
  • Payment instruments: any cards or wallets you saved on file are detached from our payment processor (Stripe).
  • Notifications: push tokens, email lists, and SMS opt-ins associated with your account.
  • Authentication: your password hash, two-factor secrets, biometric/passkey credentials, and any active sessions.

3What we may keep, and why

A narrow set of records is retained after account deletion because we are legally or contractually required to keep them. We never use these records for marketing or to rebuild your profile.

  • Financial & tax records: invoices, receipts, payouts, refunds, and Stripe Connect transactions are retained for up to 7 years to satisfy IRS, accounting, and audit requirements.
  • Fraud, abuse, and safety records: records of suspended accounts, fraud signals, chargebacks, and serious safety incidents may be retained to protect other Members and Providers.
  • Legal & regulatory holds: if your account is subject to an active legal claim, subpoena, or regulatory investigation, we keep the relevant records until the matter is resolved.
  • Aggregated analytics: data that has been irreversibly anonymized so it cannot be linked back to you may be kept indefinitely for product analytics.
  • Backups: encrypted backups roll off automatically within 30 days of deletion.

4Deleting data without closing your account

If you want to remove specific items but keep your account active, you can:

  • Delete a vehicle from MembersMy Vehicles.
  • Delete maintenance logs, fuel logs, or uploaded documents from the relevant vehicle detail page.
  • Turn off push, email, or SMS notifications from SettingsNotifications.
  • Disconnect saved payment methods from SettingsPayments.

You can also email privacy@mycarconcierge.com with a specific data-removal request and we will action it within 30 days.

5Sign-in via Facebook or other providers

If you signed up using Facebook, Google, or Apple, you can still delete your account at any time using the in-app steps in Section 1 above. You can also email privacy@mycarconcierge.com from the address on your account and we will process the request within 30 days.

If you remove the My Car Concierge app from your Facebook account settings (Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites), Facebook will notify our servers and we will automatically run the same deletion cascade described in Sections 2 and 3. Facebook hands you a confirmation code at the same time — you can plug that code into data-deletion-status.html to see whether the deletion is pending or complete. If you would prefer not to wait for Facebook to forward the request, follow the in-app steps in Section 1 or email us.
